What to Expect at Your First Visit
YOUR INITIAL ASSESSMENT
Your first visit to Metro East Dental Care is all about understanding your unique oral health needs. The initial appointment will last around 90 minutes. We will perform a comprehensive evaluation and take full-mouth X-rays, including bitewings, to gain a complete picture of your oral health. These 3D X-rays allow us to identify any potential issues and create a baseline for future visits as well as detect any possible infections and evaluate tooth placement options for patients with missing teeth. Another important aspect of your first visit is a periodontal evaluation to assess your gum health.
Advanced Diagnostic Technology
DIGITAL AND CONE-BEAM X-RAYS
At Metro East Dental Care, we use digital X-rays, which provide clearer images with minimal radiation exposure compared to traditional radiographs. The results are immediate, allowing us to review them with you during your visit. For adults, we also do a scan using cone-beam imaging. This is a cutting-edge technology that offers a comprehensive 3D view of your teeth and jaw. This wider field of view helps us precisely diagnose issues and develop effective treatment plans targeting problem areas.
Periodontal Readings and Evaluation Presentation

We will assess your gum health and screen for gum disease using periodontal probing. After completing your evaluation, we’ll present our findings and discuss your current oral health status. You’ll gain a clear understanding of your dental needs, and we’ll review any issues that require attention.
